Harry Potter fans everywhere have been anxiously awaiting the last release in the franchise’s eight-part series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so they’re no doubt reliving the memories in anticipation of its completion.
While celebrating the anniversary of the ultimate Harry Potter book release in the U.K., the “Pottermore” digital site released an updated teaser trailer for Deathly Hallows, featuring an inside look at the final book.
Warner Bros. released the official trailer for the final film in 2016, and while there haven’t been any announcements as to a U.S. release date, fans in Japan have already seen Deathly Hallows in theaters. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Japan and will be screened for the first time in the country on Feb. 10, after a special limited engagement in Japan in October.
While most fans are eager to see the complete movie, author J.K. Rowling has said she is content with any of the movie releases of her work.
“I understand that for many fans Deathly Hallows is both the final and definitive installment in the Harry Potter story,” Rowling said on her “Here We Are” website in 2014. “So of course I wanted to make sure this was the one that we gave the fans.”
Despite suggestions of trying to bring the film back to life, film studio Warner Bros. has refuted such claims.
“Do not, for the love of all that is holy, put oil on your fire,” Rowling wrote in a message addressed to fans. “Instead, if you’ve not seen the film before, please go and watch it in theaters next week to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the very first Harry Potter movie.”
